Isola di San Lazzaro degli Armeni

In the small island of San Lazzaro, so beloved by the poet Byron, the monastery of the Armenian rises, surrounded by an enormous garden. The Gothic church of San Lazzaro is annexed to the monastery, rebuilt during the 19th century.

Isola San Francesco del Deserto

In one of the most beautiful islands of the Venetian lagoon is the Monastery of Saint Francis of the Desert.
The retreat traditionally dated back to 1220, when Saint Francis of Assisi, back to the Egypt, visited Venice, but it seems to be just a legend, rather than true history.
