This itinerary takes the cue from the places where Eugenio Da Venezia and the groups of “the painters of Palazzo Carminati”, representative of the 18th century Venetian post-Impressionist movement, passed whole days to paint surrounded by the wonderful nature of the lagoon landscapes.
Among the generations of artists crossing the last century we linger on the so called “lagoon Post Impressionists”, to whom Eugenio Da Venezia was one of the main representative between the two wars of the 20th century.
Together with Eugenio Da Venezia, there are other important painters to mention, that are representative of this movement, such as Marco Novati, Neno Mori, Fioravante Seibezzi, Juti Ravenna, Carlo Dalla Zorza, Aldo Bergamini, Cesare Mainella.
Eugenio da Venezia was considered the “French” painters, since his stroke, that personalized more and more during the years, is similar to the atmospheres of the French Impressionists.
The main characteristic of the lagoon Post Impressionism is to be the only movement of Venice in which the pure color impose itself as the only vehicle of light, bounded to the open air painting in the lagoon.
